Improve School-wide Systems for Multilingual Learners

The WIDA Symposium is a forum for innovation and reciprocal learning. You will learn about new resources and developments from WIDA. Together we will explore the latest research and connect with scholars from the University of Wisconsin-Madison.

We will also showcase innovation from across the WIDA International School Consortium; you will be able to share both your questions and your good ideas with colleagues from around the region.

Who Should Attend

The Symposium is an exclusive benefit for members of the WIDA International School Consortium. A Symposium is the next step to support action planning and implementation for educators who have already used WIDA resources. Participants must have previous training/experience with WIDA. We encourage teams of EAL teachers, administrators and classroom/subject teachers to attend together.

Upcoming Dates and Locations

Due to the uncertainty surrounding COVID-19 and the changing global health response, we are continuing to work with host schools to determine dates and locations to meet the needs of our global educators.

While we look towards a future with unrestricted travel, we also acknowledge that the health and safety of students, teachers and families remains a priority. Visit this page for updates and registration links as they become available.

What Past Participants Say

"The Symposium served as an eye-opener for me to bring back to my school information that we need to know so that we can do a better job of serving our students on their English language acquisition journey. The research summaries are a great source and now I can continue exploring related research and contextualizing my learning."

"My next step is to develop a prototype for my action plan problem of practice. The Symposium tools are invaluable for organizational leadership! Thank you!"
