This introductory webinar provides an overview of collaborative methods and models for planning, instruction, and assessment of multilingual learners. It is designed for individual teachers who collaborate, teams, teacher pairs, or instructional coaches.
Multilingual learners need instruction that is differentiated to meet the needs unique to learning an additional language and grade-appropriate content. Participants will approach the idea of differentiation of language from an asset-based perspective, recognizing that language learners bring many contributions to the school community. This workshop is designed for general classroom teachers and English language specialists who share instructional responsibility for language learners. No experience in using the WIDA Standards Framework is needed for this workshop.

This WIDA MODEL training webinar series is for educators who are preparing to administer the WIDA MODEL Online assessment for grades 1-12. WIDA MODEL can be used as an identification/placement assessment for newly enrolled ELLs or as an interim progress monitoring assessment. During this training, participants will learn how to administer and score each of the four domain assessments as well as how to navigate and perform key functions in the MODEL Online Test Administrator Interface.

This two-day workshop is designed to enhance participants' lesson planning processes. During the workshop, participants will examine seven essential elements that attend to the needs of multilingual learners. In particular, participants will focus on creating contexts for meaningful language use within settings that integrate content learning and academic language development. Participants will utilize tools and resources from the WIDA Standards Framework to assist them in designing instruction that promotes content learning and language development.
This training is for test administrators of the WIDA MODEL (Measure of Developing English Language) Online. The WIDA MODEL is a series of English language proficiency assessments for Kindergarten through Grade 12. However, Kindergarten MODEL is only available in a paper kit format. Educators can use MODEL as an identification/placement assessment for newly enrolled multilingual learners or as an interim progress monitoring assessment. Participants will learn how to administer, monitor, and score as applicable each language domain in the assessment.
During this training, participants will work collaboratively to strengthen their understanding of how to administer the assessment. This includes test administration beginning with the entry task, and then continuing to Path A or Path B. Particular attention will be given to developing inter-rater reliability when scoring the speaking and writing domains. Participants will utilize a multitude of practice items to be scored with the scoring scales.
