Join Andrea Honigsfeld and Jon Nordmeyer for a two-day workshop in Rome to learn how to stretch your co-teaching. This interactive workshop will guide teachers through first exploring the rationale for collaboration then examining the collaboration cycle of co-planning, co-teaching, co-assessing and co-reflecting.
We will consider how WIDA supports a focus on student assets to scaffold both integrated language and content learning. And building on what teachers can do, we will connect collaborative practices to professional learning through a culture of relational trust. You’ll learn how to integrate the WIDA standards framework: both to initiate new partnerships and to maximize existing co-teaching relationships. As experienced educators and collaborators, Andrea and Jon will demonstrate specific co-teaching strategies and participants will leave with practical tools they can use right away to serve all learners in every classroom.
Registration fee includes refreshments and lunch for two days. Participants also receive a copy of The WIDA International English Language Development Standards and Resource Guide as well as a copy of the book Co-Teaching for English Learners: A Guide to Collaborative Planning, Instruction, Assessment, and Reflection by Dove and Honigsfeld.
