The new year brings an opportunity to make a fresh start. In the past weeks, students and teachers have returned to many schools around the world to begin a new semester. Refreshed from the holiday break, we can reflect on the previous year and make resolutions - to be more healthy, mindful, productive or creative. Taking a step back helps us consider how we have grown personally and professionally, and what we want to accomplish in the new year. Here at WIDA we have renewed our commitment to serve international schools with the new WIDA Screener, new professional learning opportunities and a web redesign project.
As you look ahead to 2018, consider a professional resolution to join other international educators in the global WIDA network for professional learning that builds on the assets of multilingual learners. This month, we will facilitate our first international two-day Collaboration Workshop in Seoul, and a large group of educators will join us for a four-day WIDA Institute in Paris. Space is still available for other WIDA events in Bangkok, Quito and Lima.
Looking ahead to the 2018-19 school year, we are building an exciting calendar of international events, including Institutes, Symposia and new Workshop offerings. We look forward to collaborating with our partner schools to provide leadership for the global WIDA network.
