Kristen Burton is an Accessibility and Inclusion Specialist at WIDA. As part of the Assessment team, she co-leads the Advancing ALTELLA grant. Additionally, her role is focused on collaboration with external stakeholders such as state members, contractors, and expert consultants. Kristen previously held positions with the State Relations team at WIDA as the Consortium Manager and as an Assessment Communications Specialist.
Prior to joining WIDA, she served as program manager for 10 years at the Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction in large-scale assessment including the alternate assessment for students with the most significant cognitive disabilities, and most recently as a federal grant manager at the Wisconsin Department of Children and Families. Kristen has worked over 17 years advocating for and providing direct care to individuals with and without disabilities in residential treatment, day treatment, group home, foster care and hospital settings.
