Leslie Grimm

Assistant Director of Professional Learning Operations

Leslie Grimm is the Assistant Director of Professional Learning Operations at WIDA. She co-leads departmental strategic planning and manages data and analytics for WIDA’s professional learning programs, communicating insights to internal and external stakeholders. She collaborates with curriculum specialists, researchers, and professional learning facilitators to develop educator-focused webpages and resources under the Teach menu, highlighting topics that support multilingual learners PreK–12. Leslie leads a team of professional learning coordinators, ensuring the smooth coordination of ELRP’s systems and programs and that professional learning initiatives provide meaningful support for educators.
Before joining WIDA in 2011, Leslie taught multilingual learners for 12 years in roles including bilingual kindergarten teacher, bilingual resource teacher, kindergarten teacher, and ESL coach in Madison, WI. She then provided school- and district-based professional development, helping educators and administrators scaffold instruction and assessment to support multilingual students’ academic and language growth.
When she’s not working, Leslie enjoys being a mom to her three children, Finley, Camden, and Celia, cheering them on at lacrosse, soccer, and other activities. She also loves traveling to warm beaches, cooking with her husband, and spending time with friends and family. Leslie holds a Master of Science in Educational Leadership and Director of Curriculum and Instruction from Cardinal Stritch University and a Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education.
