Desarrollando el español: Las expectativas del lenguaje

This self-paced workshop offers K–12 bilingual educators an opportunity to engage in a deeper examination of el Marco de los estándares del desarrollo auténtico del lenguaje español de WIDA (Marco DALE), with a focus on Language Expectations, Functions, and Features through the analysis of mentor texts. Participants explore materials and additional resources to enhance their skills in planning for socioculturally informed language development.

Note: The offering is primarily in Spanish and includes resources in English and Spanish.

This workshop is designed for K–12 bilingual educators.

Learning Outcomes

Participants will

  • Explore the impact of las ideas principales of the Marco DALE in planning units for content and language development
  • Analyze texts to identify Language Expectations, Functions and Features aligned to a Key Language Use for a content unit
  • Explore materials and additional resources to support planning for the integration of language and content instruction
