John Fischer is the LMS Solutions Analyst at WIDA. In his role, he is responsible for the strategy and ongoing management of the organization's learning technologies. In that role, he engages in instructional design and serves as a liaison with Professional Learning staff as well as other departments to ensure successful adoption, deployment and integration of learning technologies. John also provides oversight of learning technology projects to ensure learning matches the needs of internal and external stakeholders and enables effortless learning while researching current and future learning technology trends and best practices to determine applicability to the organization.
John holds a Ph.D. in Educational Administration & Policy Analysis from UW-Madison. In his past roles, he was an ELL teacher, Outreach Program Manager with UW-Extension, Executive Director for the WEA Professional Development Academy and the Quality Educator Interactive, Director of Administration for the Association of Wisconsin School Administrators and served as a Legal Specialist in the U.S. Army Reserve.
John's licenses and certifications include ELL and English teaching, school principal, consensus building trainer, online course development, and higher education leadership among others.
