Laura is an eLearning Instructional Designer for WIDA's Digital Learning Innovation Team (DLITe). In her role, she applies the systematic process of instructional design to create meaningful digital learning experiences for pre-K-12 educators of multilingual learners.
Laura has over a decade of experience in the field of international education. Prior to joining WIDA, she was the assistant director of the UW-Madison Russian Flagship Program, where she helped undergraduates of any major reach a professional-level of Russian proficiency by graduation. She has spent considerable time in the countries of the former Soviet Union and is passionate about language learning and instructional design. Laura holds a bachelor's degree from UW-Madison and a master's degree from Stanford University. In her free time, you can find her walking in Madison's many parks with her husband and two dogs, growing flowers in her garden, or embarking on a variety of creative projects.
