Georgia uses Kindergarten W-APT, WIDA MODEL for Kindergarten, and WIDA Screener (for Grades 1-12) to identify English language learners (ELLs). ACCESS for ELLs is given to all ELLs during the annual testing window, which typically takes place from mid-January through early March.

WIDA Facilitated eWorkshops ELD Standards 2020
Please see the Georgia Department of Education (GaDOE) ESOL Professional Learning website to learn more about WIDA Facilitated eWorkshop opportunities coming Winter 2021. Teachers will have the opportunity to explore ways to use the WIDA English language development (ELD) Standards, 2020 Edition, to support English learners’ development of the academic language needed to be successful in school.
