This new three-part webinar series — “Assessment in Action: Supporting Multilingual Learners Through Data and Practice” — will explore how research-backed assessment practices can generate meaningful insights that strengthen instruction and improve outcomes from multilingual learners.

This session, presented by WIDA professional learning facilitator Alisa Rhoads and ELD teacher Erica Solorio, explores how you can interpret and apply assessment data to shape instruction that meets multilingual learners where they are and helps them grow. You’ll engage in breakout sessions to share tools and approaches from your own contexts.
Teaching With Possibility: A Classroom View of WIDA’s Standards Resources
Tuesday, April 28, 2026, at 6:00 p.m. ET
This session is presented by ELD teacher Katie Miller, WIDA standards resource developer Jessica Canul Diaz and WIDA researcher Lynn Shafer Willner. You’ll take a closer look at WIDA standards-based resources and discover classroom-ready strategies that support language development and content learning.
Lessons From Student-Centered Research With Young Multilingual Learners and Their Educators
Tuesday, May 12, 2026, at 6:00 p.m. ET
This session is presented by three WIDA researchers, Mark Chapman, Ahyoung Alicia Kim and Jason Kemp. It highlights findings from research conducted with K-12 multilingual learners and their teachers. You’ll learn about student and educator contributions to projects that focused on enhancing K-12 score reports and developing a new assessment for kindergarten multilingual learners.
