Shannon is a Communications Specialist on WIDA’s Consortium and State Relations team. In her role, she supports the state relations team regarding communication needs, collaborates with other departments to develop messaging and resources to support communication and marketing campaigns, and manages weekly communications with member SEAs. Shannon graduated from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign with a B.A. in Anthropology and a M.Ed. in Curriculum and Instruction. Prior to working at WIDA, she spent 6 years teaching in grades K-8 in central Illinois, including 4 years working primarily with multilingual learners.
