Teresa Krastel is the director of standards and innovation at WIDA. She is a seasoned leader with extensive experience in assessment, content and curriculum development, and educational publishing.
She has led teams in the nonprofit education sector and higher education, and brings many years of classroom experience at the K–12, undergraduate, and graduate levels.
Teresa is passionate about languages and linguistics, research-based evidence and instructional practice, especially for multilingual learners. She received her B.A. in Linguistics from Northwestern University, and her M.A. and Ph.D. in Hispanic Literatures and Linguistics from the University of Massachusetts Amherst.
