WIDA Academies are in-person professional learning workshops and will focus on topics relevant to educators of multilingual learners. Educators from within and outside of the WIDA Consortium are invited to attend these open-enrollment workshops facilitated by WIDA Professional Learning specialists.

This one-day academy is designed for Spanish/English bilingual K-12 educators, administrators, coaches, curriculum coordinators and support staff with minimal experience using el Marco de los estándares del desarrollo auténtico del lenguaje español de WIDA (Marco DALE).
This two-day academy is designed for elementary grade-level teachers, English language development specialists, and instructional coaches.
In this interactive academy, educators will explore a pedagogical approach that apprentices multilingual learners into writing in various academic genres. Examples will focus on the genre of science and how this approach develops multilingual learners’ writing skills and their awareness of how language works in written form. This will allow them to become effective and informed writers across content areas.
This two-day academy is designed for secondary content-area educators (Social Studies, Science, ELA), English language development specialists, and instructional coaches.
