Are We Ready?: What Educators Can Do to Support Young Multilingual Children

This webinar approaches the topic of school readiness through an asset-based, equity lens and invites participants to reflect on their readiness to ensure multilingual children and their families experience a smooth transition from early care and education environments to K-12 systems. WIDA Early Years Parent Research: Helping States Support Multilingual Families

This webinar highlights research with families of young multilingual children conducted by WIDA researchers across three states. The research explored the perceptions, experiences, and decision-making of parents of young multilingual children, ages 0-5 years, with regard to children’s language learning and development, family engagement practices, and children’s participation in ECE programs. Participants will gain awareness of the research findings and implications to practice, as well as have opportunities to reflect on their own local family engagement practice.
