This report, Advancing Implementation: Phase 2: Research on English Language Development Standards, Part 1: Focus Group and Interview Insights on Practice and Innovation, examines how K-12 educators across the United States are implementing the WIDA English Language Development Standards Framework. The first part of this study draws on focus groups and interviews with teachers, specialists and leaders from 21 states. The study highlights practical strategies for standards implementation, emphasizing teacher agency, collaboration and the everyday opportunities and barriers that educators encounter.
