WIDA Español has launched a free self-paced webinar in English and Spanish that introduces the WIDA Spanish Language Development Framework.

Annsonnetta Washburn Golden is an English teacher at Albertville High School in Albertville, Alabama. She has been teaching high school English for 20 years and working with English language learners for three years.

The illustrated booklet brings each of the 10 WIDA Guiding Principles to life and can be used by educators to guide their conversations with parents, families and community members about the ideas behind the guiding principles. Additional resources and learning opportunities on the WIDA ELD Standards, 2020 Edition,  are also available. 

Eva Schutter is an English language teacher at Morris Community High School in Morris, Illinois. This year marks her fourteenth as an English language teacher.

WIDA research associate Delis Cuellar is featured in the 2020 summer edition of the AERA Qualitative Research SIG newsletter. Her article is entitled, “Research Adaptations During the Pandemic When Conducting Qualitative Work in Early Childhood Care and Education Settings.” 

Luz Gonzales is a bilingual teacher at Carlsbad Sixth Grade Academy and Desert Willow Elementary School in Carlsbad, New Mexico. She has been teaching for 17 years.

WIDA announces that the WIDA English Language Development Standards, 2020 Edition will be released in early winter, 2020-2021. A list of additional resources for learning about the new edition of the Standards is provided.
